Jayaraj is a director who shot to fame through his artistic films. He is looked upon as a serious filmmaker. He is a winner of several national and international awards. He has done films with many actors including Mammootty and Suresh Gopi. But due to various reasons, Jayaraj could not do a film with Mohanlal. He opens his mind to Kerala Kaumudi Online on whether he will do a film with Mohanlal.

“I don't know that, only Mohanlal knows. We had approached the actor once or twice for a film. Somehow it did not happen. I don't know if it will happen again,” Jayaraj said.

Jayaraj’s seventh film Rowdram 2018 of navarasa series hit the theatres today. The film based on last year’s devastating floods has Renji Panicker and KPAC Leela in lead roles. The film tells the story of an old couple trapped in a house during floods at Pandanad in Chengannur of Alappuzha.

Sabitha, wife of Jayaraj, Sarayu, Binu Pappu, N P Niza, Nikhil Renji Panicker are also part of the film. Cinematography is by Nikhil S Praveen, editing by Jinu Shoba, music is by Sachin Sankar. Roudram 2018 is produced by Dr Suresh Kumar Muttath under the banner of Prakriti Pictures.
