THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The public campaigning activities related to the by-polls in the five constituencies in Kerala have come to an end today. The excitement was quite evident among workers of all three fronts as they ended the campaigning activities on a high. The campaigning activities concluded with the roadshows of respective candidates. Meanwhile, the absence of major Congress leaders in the last leg of campaigning has created confusion within the UDF.

While the situations were energetic and positive in Ernakulam, Vattiyoorkavu and Aroor, slight altercations have been reported during the campaigning activities in Konni. Reports also suggested that certain UDF workers in Konni got involved in a conflict with the police which eventually led to a lathi-charge. The issue began when the police questioned the workers for crossing the allotted space during campaigning works.
