KOCHI: As of now, a total of 107 flat owners have been granted compensation in relation to the Maradu flat case. Out of these, only 13 will receive the complete amount of Rs 25 lakhs. The flat owners who have received confirmation regarding the compensation amount should submit an affidavit tomorrow at the Municipality, Sub-collector Snehil Kumar Singh said. He added that the owners must also submit details including bank account details along with the affidavit. If all the details are found to be proper, the owners will get their compensation amounts within two days, he added.

Meanwhile, labourers of Edifice Engineering have begun the removal of doors and windows from Jain Coral Cove, the largest of the controversial Maradu flats. It is learnt that the companies will hand over detailed plans regarding the demolition of flats to the government within 10 days.

On the other hand, the accused Sali Francis, Muhammed Ashraf and PE Joseph have been handed over to police custody for three days. The court will be considering their bail plea on October 23. Another accused Jayaram Naik is yet to be arrested.
