KOCHI: Heavy rains continue in southern and central Kerala. Unprecedented rains are lashing Ernakulam and following that many roads in the city are submerged in water.
Kochi M G Road, south railway station, north railway station roads, Kaloor bus stand and Kaloor stadium are under water. Water entered Kaloor sub station and following that power supply has been disrupted.
Only buses are seen in roads. Water has entered many shops in M G Road. Heavy rains started in the city from Sunday evening.
Following heavy rains, many trains are halted at various stations after railway tracks are flooded in Ernakulam south. Transportation of trains via these routes have been suspended temporarily. Ernakulam-Alappuzha passenger have been cancelled.
Rains have badly affected by-polls in the city. Polling booths have been replaced in two places. People are being evicted from their homes in Kochi P & G Colony and Chullikkal part.
