THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet convened here decided to hand over the reconstruction of Palarivattom overbridge to DMRC. The recommendations of the expert panel appointed by the government will be approved.

The expert panel suggested to accept E Sreedharan’s opinion of reconstructing the bridge. The report of Sreedharan handed over to the government mentioned that if the bridge is reconstructed it will get a life of 100 years.

Reconstruction of the bridge is handed over to DMRC after they promised to take over the work. Roads and Bridges Development Corporation will be directed to recover the cost of the bridge collapsed from the concerned contractors. All these things will be informed to the high court.
