KOCHI: Alfa Ventures owner Paul Raj on Wednesday surrendered in the Moovattupuzha Vigilance court in connection with Maradu flat corruption case.

After this, the court remanded him to judicial custody till November 5.

Meanwhile, the Crime Branch is set to petition the court, seeking the custody of the accused for questioning. Soon after Holy Faith owner Sany and two former government officers were arrested in connection with the corruption case, other accused had gone into hiding.

The district Sessions Court had on Tuesday dismissed the petition of Paul Raj, citing that there was suo-motu case against Paul Raj.
Though summons was sent to him for questioning, he had not turned up. It was after this that he filed the anticipatory bail plea.

Currently, former Maradu Panchayat officer Muhammad Asharaf and P E Jospeh are in remand. Architect K C George, who prepared the plan for the Alfa Serene Flat, has also been made an accused in the case.

The bail plea of all four accused in remand will be considered on November 8.
