THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A migrant worker, who tried to molest a home alone house woman after turning up as a churidar seller a week ago, approached her again on Tuesday night and attempted to kill her.
The woman who sustained injury on her neck has been admitted to district hospital. The victim is a native of Ayathil Thekkekavu. The accused reached the house at 7:30 am, entered her room and tried to strangle her with a rope.
As soon as her husband rushed to her room hearing her cries, the ‘killer’ man fled the room and disappeared into the darkness.
Though her relatives and locals searched all the places around the house, they could not find the attacker.
Meanwhile, Eravipuram police and dog squad have intensified the search for him. A few policemen have also been deployed near the house.
It was just four days ago that the woman had lodged a complaint with Eravipuram police against the man.
He used to visit houses wearing a coat and pants, creating the impression that he was a churidar merchant. A week ago, when the youth reached the house of the woman, she told him she didn’t want churidar. Sensing that there was no one else in the house, he followed her and tried to grab her.
This incident happened at around 12 noon. The woman soon managed to get hold of a cricket bat, thrashed him and sent him away.
The police said that the man might have returned to take revenge against the woman for injuring her head.
Eravipuram police have intensified the search.
