THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Counting of votes for the bypolls held in five assembly constituencies of the state have started. Postal ballots are counted first. A clear picture of the results of five constituencies will be out by noon. An official announcement will be made after VVPAT machines of five polling stations, randomly selected by a draw of lots, counted in each constituency at the end of the final round of vote counting. The results of Ernakulam and Vattiyoorkavu where a low percentage of voting was witnessed will be announced first.
Counting is held at Government High School, Paivalike Nagar (Manjeswaram constituency), Maharaja’s College (Ernakulam), NSS College, Cherthala (Aroor), Amrita Vocational Higher Secondary School, Eliyarackal (Konni), and St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Pattom (Vattiyurkavu).
The by-elections were held in 51 assembly constituencies in 18 states including Kerala. Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections were also held.
