THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: UDF candidate P Mohanraj, who was leading in the beginning is now trailing in Konni. LDF candidate K U Janeesh Kumar is racing ahead by crossing 5000 votes.

In Vatiyoorkavu assembly seat, LDF candidate and Thiruvananthapuram Mayor V K Prashanth is leading by 2225 votes against former Congress Legislator K Mohan Kumar.

In Aroor, UDF candidate Shanimol Usman is leading against LDF candidate Manu C Pulikkal by 1511 votes.

T J Vinod of the UDF is leading by 3258 votes against LDF candidate Manu Roy in Ernakulam.

In Manjeswaram, M C Kamarudheen of the UDF is leading by 3323 votes against Raveesha Tantri of the NDA. Counting of votes to the five assembly constituencies is underway, which began at 8 am.

Counting is held at Government High School, Paivalike Nagar (Manjeswaram constituency), Maharaja’s College (Ernakulam), NSS College, Cherthala (Aroor), Amrita Vocational Higher Secondary School, Eliyarackal (Konni), and St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Pattom (Vattiyurkavu).

The by-elections were held in 51 assembly constituencies in 18 states including Kerala. Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections were also held.
