CHANDIGARH: As per the latest reports, no party seemed to be heading for a clear majority in Haryana on Thursday, with both the ruling BJP and the Congress locked in a close contest. While the BJP is leading in 39 seats, Congress is ahead in 31 constituencies. There are 90 seats in Haryana assembly.
The fledgling Jannayak Janta Party is expected to play a crucial role as it has managed to go ahead in 11 seats. Following this, it is learnt that Congress has reportedly approached JJP chief Dushyant Chautala to stop the BJP from retaining power in Haryana. This has led to speculation regarding the Karnataka model getting adopted in Haryana.
