KASARGODE: UDF candidate MC Khamarudeen has secured a huge win in Manjeshwram. The victory margin is considered to be significant as the UDF had managed to secure only a smaller margin of 89 votes in the 2016 election. While BJP candidate Raveesha Thantri secured the second spot, LDF candidate Shankar Ray ended up third.
"The party workers were pretty cautious after the 2016 elections. We worked in a disciplined way and formed a booth committee by forming the UDF district committee. There was great planning before the election and we also gave a strong message during the Parliament election," said Khamarudeen, who is the Kasargode district president of the Muslim League.
It must be noted that Khamarudeen has maintained a lead ever since the counting began. Despite strong competition from BJP and LDF candidates, Khamarudeen went on to secure a huge margin of 7923.
