THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Fort police have arrested a youth who, the other day, picked a quarrel with a woman police officer when his bike was stopped for alleged traffic violation.

The youth also shot the video of the heated exchanges between him and the woman officer on his mobile phone and posted on the social media.

The youth has been identified as Manacaud Karimadom Colony TC 39/1920 resident Ajith aka Ajeshi (19). He has been charged under various sessions of the IPC for offences such as throwing tantrum at police officer when he was asked to pay fine for traffic violation, crushing and throwing away official documents of the police, preventing the officer from discharging the official duty and humiliating the police through social media.

The incident happened near East Fort on Wednesday noon. In the video, the youth can be seen raising his voice against the woman police officer and creating a scene as if to attract the public attention and shoot video of the incident.

When the police officer asks Ajith to tell the vehicle number, he evades the question, alleging that he was not riding the vehicle and was rolling it to workshop for repairing it. He can also be seen talking impolitely to the officer.

Finally fed up with Ajith’s blabbering, the officer calls off vehicle inspection and she along with her subordinates leaves the place in the police vehicle.

Meanwhile, the police said that the youth was over-speeding on his bike without helmet. When he was waved down, he drove past the police team and entered into a petrol pump area. He started quarrelling when he was asked to pay fine for not wearing helmet.
