THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The LDF got the votes of the RSS in the Vattiyoorkavu by-polls, alleged K Muraleedharan MP. A team led by Minister Kadakampally Surendran sought votes in the name of caste, CPM rejected the NSS and acknowledged the RSS, he said. The LDF steered a wrong campaign on the support given by the NSS, he said at the press meet convened in the capital city.
When S Suresh replaced Kummanam Rajashekaran, the BJP was not at all in the picture. The LDF now says that the caste equations have changed. A team led by Minister Kadakampally sought votes from Ezhava families in the name of caste. They sought votes saying that if the UDF wins in Vattiyoorkavu, the full credit will be for the NSS and after Anirudhan there has been no MLA from the Ezhava family, alleged Murali. The NSS supported the UDF for the stand taken on the protection of faith. The left front were against devotees. The BJP’s faith was fake.
The NSS supported the UDF for the clear stand taken. The strong secular stand of the NSS provoked the RSS. The win of the LDF is temporary, he said.
Meantime, in Vattiyoorkavu, there has been a change of mind among the traditional voters who supported the UDF. The party will examine and take steps in future. The internal affairs of the party have not affected the polls. A good campaigning was seen in the constituency than when I competed. But, it could not be converted into votes. Eyeing polls, V K Prashanth was presented as ‘mayor bro’ during Kerala floods. However, essential items were carried by Red Cross societies and associations. He just flagged off the vehicle carrying the items, alleged Muraleedharan.
Murali said the LDF got the advantage of fielding a young candidate, but these are not the valid reasons for getting so much votes. The UDF candidate was also good. As he was part of a constitutional institution for the past six years, he was not able to bond with the public.
