THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A decision has been taken in a meeting convened by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to take up a special comprehensive project to prevent water logging in Kochi corporation limits.

The meeting held in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday was attended by Kochi Corporation authorities and officers.

The project will be designed on the lines of Operation Anantha, which was successfully implemented in most parts of Thiruvananthapuram. The Executive committee of disaster management authority will also meet soon in this regard.

This time, to prevent waterlogging in Kochi, Operation Break Through was implemented but for the next time, the government has mooted a comprehensive action plan. The idea is to complete the project within three months.


Minister A C Moideen, Kochi Mayor Soumini Jain, Chief secretary Tom Jose, Additional chief secretary T K Jose, CM’s principal secretary V S Senthil, Ernakulam district collector S Suhas, disaster management committee member Sekhar Kuriyakose besides secretaries and directors of various departments were present.
