THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Met department has informed that tropical cyclone 'Kyarr' formed over the East-Central Arabian Sea on Friday has gained intensity.

Though Kerala is not in the trajectory of Kyaar, there are chances for heavy isolated rains in different parts of the State due to its influence. The State Met department has issued Yellow alert in five districts on Saturday such as Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kanuur and Kasargod.

Isolated heavy rains are expected in these districts.There are also chances for high sea waves along the coasts of Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Warnings have been issued against going to East Central Arabian sea till October 28 and West Central Arabian sea till October 31.
Fishermen have also been asked not venture into seas during these days.
