KODUNGALLUR: A fishing boat sank in sea near Azhikode harbour on Saturday, leading to the death of one person. The dead has been identified as Ambalappuzha native Josy (50). Four other persons in boat were recused.

The ship that sank was the boat named Sea King boat that went into the sea for trawling early morning. The boat capsized after getting caught in big waves along with strong wind.

The mishap occurred when those in the boat were trying to steer the boat to the shores after the weather condition worsened. Other trawling boats sped to the spot and rescued four others but by that time Josy had sunk in sea water.

It was the fishermen who went from Munambam who fished out the body of Josy. The body has been shifted to Paravur government hospital.
