KOCHI: Senior Congress leaders have called to remove Soumini Jain from the mayor’s position. A special meeting of senior leaders was formed to discuss the present situation in Kochi Corporation. The likes of V.D. Satheeshan, K.V. Thomas, K. Babu, Dominic Presentation, T.J. Vinod, and P.T. Thomas took part in the meeting.

The district Congress leadership said there would be some changes in the Kochi Corporation. The KPCC President will be informed about the emotion of the district leadership. The bilateral parties within the front will be told about the changes.

Following the waterlogging in the city on the by-election day, there were demands for the resignation of Kochi mayor. However, KPCC president Mullapppally Ramachandran took a stand that isn’t necessary, even after the low majority win in the elections.

The KPCC president said that a defeat and win is the combined responsibility and one shouldn’t be made the scapegoat. However, the decision to change the mayor in the meeting on Saturday.
