THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: DGP Lokanath Behera said he will respond after getting the report on the acquittal of the accused in the case involving sexual exploitation and mysterious deaths of two dalit girls at Attappalam in Walayar. He said he will examine whether any lapses have occurred in the probe after getting a copy of the court verdict issued on October 25.
Behera said there is no doubt that the Walayar case is a serious and emotional incident and emergency steps will be taken after getting the copy of the verdict. A decision will be taken on the disciplinary action to be taken against the officials after examining the report, he said.
Behera said there are chances for either a crime branch or a judicial probe as per the instruction of the Supreme Court or the state government on the deaths of the three Maoists in Palakkad. I cannot opine on it personally, he said.
He refused to react on the claim of opposition leader that the attack towards Maoists was a planned one. After getting a detailed report on the issue, will inform the media, he said.
