THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government will be paying an amount of Rs 25 lakh as fees to the Supreme Court lawyer arguing its appeal against a single judge verdict for a CBI probe into the murder of youth congress activists Kripesh and Sarath Lal in Periya, Kasargod.

Former Solicitor General and senior advocate Ranjith Kumar will be appearing for the state government in the high court.

The home department has issued an order sanctioning the amount as fees to him. The government filed a plea in the division bench challenging the single bench verdict for a CBI probe.
