THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Earlier, there were reports which suggested that Viji, a first-year graduate student, has decided to stop her education due to the controversies regarding her transfer of college. Now, Minister KT Jaleel has come up announcing that the government will look after her education. The minister made the announcement through his Facebook page.

According to the minister, Viji will be able to join for a free degree course in the next academic year. He also said that the government will help her pursue her dream to join for a 6-month long Animation and Web designing course at C-Apt.

The controversy erupted when the government transferred Viji from Cherthala NSS college to Govt Women's college in Thiruvananthapuram. The order was made after it came across her financial difficulties. Moreover, Viji had to travel six hours a day to reach her college. Viji, who lost both her parents at a young age, was immediately transferred to a vacant seat in Govt Women's college.

However, the transfer did not go down well with the opposition who raised irregularities in the procedure. Following this Viji wrote a letter to the University authorities announcing her decision to stop her studies.
