THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Writer Anand has bagged this year’s Ezhuthachan Puraskaram, the highest literary award by the state government. Anand was chosen for the award for his overall contributions to the literary field. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh and a citation. A panel led by Vaishakan chose him for the award.
P Sachidanandan uses the pseudonym Anand. His main works are Aalkkoottam (crowd), Marana Certificate (death certificate), Govardhante Yathrakal (journeys of Govardhanan) etc.
Anand is a recipient of Sahitya Akademi Award and three Kerala Sahitya Akademi Awards. He is also a recipient of Vayalar Award, Odakkuzhal Award, Muttathu Varkey Award, Vallathol Award and Yashpal Award.
