PALAKKAD: CPI have reiterated their statement that the encounter in Attappadi was staged. The representative panel of the party said this was understood after visiting the place and interacting with the locals.

CPI state executive member P. Prasad said the incident in Attappadi is administrative terror.

“The encounter was done as per the script prepared by the police. The incidents like a disabled person getting killed and Maoists getting shot on the shoulder in suspicious. The Adivasis in the nearby villages said the Maoists never attacked or snatched their food”, Prasad said.

The representative team added that they are not content with government actions and govt’s duty is not repeating after the police.

CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran had condemned the incident on Wednesday. The representative panel consisted of CPI state assistant secretary Adv. K. Prakash Babu, state executive member P. Prasad, MLAs E.K. Vijayan, Muhammad Muhsin and Palakkad district secretary Suresh Raj.
