KOZHIKODE: Alan Suhaib and Thaha Fazal, the two arrested after charging UAPA alleging Maoist links are part of a big group, said the investigating team. Their aim was to collect details and gather information around the city, the police said.
Police said they have direct links with other Maoists and the two were under surveillance for quite some time. The third person who fled is a native of Kozhikode and there are more in the group, said the officials.
Whether UAPA against the two will exist or not will be decided after examining the evidences, informed DGP Lokanath Behera in a press release. ADGP Sheikh Darvesh Saheb is in charge of it. Meantime, party activists have asserted that the UAPA will not exist in the case.
