KOCHI: The Kerala High Court Monday granted bail to the three accused remanded in the Palarivattom overbridge corruption case. Former public works department secretary T O Sooraj, RDS projects company managing director Sumit Goyal and RBDC former assistant general manager P D Thankachan have been granted bail under strict conditions. Benny Paul, another accused in the case, was granted bail earlier.

The vigilance team arrested them on August 30 in the Palarivattom corruption case. Now all three have been granted bail after spending 67 days in jail.

Though they first approached Moovattupuzha Vigilance Court seeking bail, it was rejected. Following that, they later filed their pleas in the high court. In the meantime, the investigating team informed the high court that Sooraj amassed wealth disproportionate to his known source of income when construction of the bridge was going on. The high court granted bail after hearing the arguments of both parties.
