THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Four youths have been arrested for abducting and sexually abusing a minor girl in Kazhakoottam. The culprits, Sojan (24), Abhilash (25), Tomy(23) and Niranjan(20), all natives of Maryanaadu near Kadinamkulam, have been remanded in custody. According to DySP KA Vidhyadharan, the culprits have admitted to the crime.

The incident occurred on October 30. It was the hostel warden who noted that the girl has not returned from school. Soon, she filed a complaint at the police station. On investigating, the police found out that the girl had left the school by the afternoon. However, they did not obtain any further clues.

The girl was eventually found near Thumba police station. She told the police that she was kidnapped by the culprits soon after she left school. The culprits, who took her to an isolated house in Puthukkuruchi, sexually abused her before abandoning her in Thumba.

Police soon acted and arrested the culprits. They have also recovered the bike which was used for abducting the girl.
