THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: When just days are left for Mandalam season to begin, the government has issued an order giving Pathanamthitta collector special power to go ahead with the construction and development activities of Sabarimala.

The government has a feeling that the regulation committees including the high court-appointed Sirijagan committee are either hindering or delaying various projects in Sabarimala.

It was under these circumstances that the public administration department issued the order giving more power to the collector. With this, the government will be able to carry out various projects directly.

Meanwhile, there is an opinion that the government won’t be able to act bypassing the high power committee of the high court and Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

The order in this regard came out on Friday.
