KOCHI: On finding irregularities, 30 ration shops were shut down in the state. In Ernakulam, the highest number of ration shops were shut down-12. Meanwhile, Thiruvananthapuram heads the list for the number of ration shops whose license where temporarily revoked-76. This information is there in the documented reply to KOCHI MLA J.J. Maxi.

A total of 662 shops in the state had its license revoked. Civil Supplies Department has taken actions against 12,515 ration shops for irregularities, selling the provisions in black-market and other such wrongdoings. Cases were registered against ration shops as per the Kerala Rationing Order.
