THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: PSC chairman M K Zakir said they will proceed with the appointments from the rank list of civil police officer exams. He said the report of the crime branch had mentioned that there are no hurdles in giving advice memo to other candidates shortlisted in the rank list. The PSC strongly believes that they can proceed with the present rank list.
The crime branch will submit a report at the next commission meet. A decision will be taken after holding discussions, he said.
The report has not cited any flaws from the side of PSC in the conduct of the exam. Whether the question papers were leaked or any mistake from the side of PSC have not been mentioned. Those held in the exam fraud case has been disqualified. Further steps will be taken on the findings of the probe. The crime branch has not mentioned the names of any other names other than Sivarenjith, Pranav and Nazeem, the accused in the case, Zakir said.
The crime branch had submitted a report to the PSC mentioning that there is no need to cancel the civil police officer exam. The report asserted that no widespread irregularities were noticed, only these three youths are involved in it. There are no hurdles in appointing the rest of the candidates.
SFI leaders Sivarenjith, Nazeem and Pranav of the University College topped the rank list by copying. Sivarenjith was the topper in the list. After they were named as the accused in the University College stabbing issue, suspicions grew on the irregularities in the exam and found that the three had copied.
