KOCHI: The flats in Maradu municipality will be razed on January 11 and 12. A decision was taken at the meet convened by the chief secretary in Kochi. The demolition of the flats has been postponed to January due to some technical reasons, said chief secretary Tom Jose.

Meantime, a decision will be taken in the coming days on how many explosives are needed to dismantle the flats.

Alfa Serene, Holy Faith and H2O flats will be razed by controlled explosion on the first day of January 11. Jain Coral Cove and Golden Kayaloram flats will also be demolished in the same manner.

Meanwhile, the meet convened here today decided to inform the Supreme Court the delay that occurred in razing the flats. As part of demolition of flats, special care will be taken to avoid any inconveniences to the public, the chief secretary said.
