ALAPPUZHA: Two persons have been taken into custody in connection with the murder of an aged couple in Venmani. The railway protection force took Labloo and Juwel, natives of Bangladesh, into custody from Coromandel Express. They will be brought to Kerala from Visakhapattanam. Gold stolen has been recovered from them.

The two murdered the aged couple identified as K P Cherian (Kunjumon 75) and his wife Lilly (70). The two migrant workers-- Labloo and Juwel from Bangladesh reached the couple’s home for cleaning their home premises. The two murdered the couple with some harsh weapons.

The couple was having a retired life after working abroad. The couple’s two children are working in the Middle East. Police said the murder was committed on Monday. Cherian had planned to go for boating at Alappuzha Lake with his friends on Monday. When his friends tried to contact him, he was not responding. So they reached his house Tuesday morning. The milk brought was found in the sit out. The back door was found opened and Lilly was lying in a pool of blood.

Clothes were found strewn all over the room. The body of Cherian was found in the storeroom which was at the backside in a search conducted by the police. Though their friends and relatives are staying close by, no one heard the sound as it was raining heavily.
