NEW DELHI: In a recent development, the Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the review petitions challenging its verdict in the Rafale case passed on December 14, 2018, upholding the 36 Rafale jets deal. The order was passed by a three-judge bench of headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi.
According to Justice SK Kaul, there are no grounds to order an FIR. He also added that the court cannot have a roving and fishing inquiry.
Earlier, the court had dismissed petitions seeking court-monitored probe into alleged irregularities in the procurement of jets. Following this, review petitions were filed by former Union Ministers Yashwant Sinha, Arun Shourie and others against the judgement.
