CHENGANNUR: Latest reports suggest that a police team will soon fly down after arresting the convicts of the Venmani twin murder case. The convicts, both Bangladesh nationals, were arrested from Visakhapatnam.

The elderly couple, A P Cheriyan and his wife Lilly, were found dead in their home in Kochukulanji on Monday evening. Police also discovered that the murderers have stolen jewellery and money from the house. Soon it was found that Labalu and Jewel, two migrant workers from Bangladesh, were responsible for the murders. Upon searching, it was discovered that both the culprits had left to Chennai.

After probing some co-workers of the culprits, officials found out that both Labalu and Jewel were travelling to Bangladesh in Chennai-Coromandel Express. Soon, investigating officials released lookout notices for the two which helped the Railway Protection Force to identify them. The two were immediately caught and taken to the RPF custody in Vishakapattanam. The investigating officials headed by Mannar CI soon reached the area and arrested the culprits.


It is learnt that the officials have recovered the money and jewellery from the two. Police added that the two culprits will be questioned by a team led by IG S Kaliraj soon. They will also be taken to the Venmani to collect evidence regarding the murders. Meanwhile, the dead bodies of Cheriyan and Lilly have been handed over to the relatives.
