marklists

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The marklists of Kerala University were confiscated from the house of Vishnu Somasundaram, main accused in the gold smuggling case. Unfilled marklists with the seal were recovered in a raid by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) related to gold smuggling. The DRI is planning to give a letter to Principal Secretary (education) to conduct a probe taking into account the seriousness of the incident.

The DRI had found that Vishnu Somasundaram and Prakash Thampy had smuggled 720 kilograms of gold via Thiruvananthapuram Airport. The DRI conducted a raid at Vishnu’s house in Thirumala on June 14. The 100-page investigating report of DRI asserted that unfilled marklists of Kerala University were recovered from his house. Seven unfilled mark lists along with signatures and seal were recovered in the raid.

There is no clear answer from Vishnu on how he got the mark lists. So, after completing the probe, the DRI is planning to write a letter to the high-level principal demanding a comprehensive probe.

The mark lists seized from his house are with the officials of DRI.

The CBI is also probing the gold smuggling case. The CBI has not been able to question him as he is absconding.
