KOCHI: ‘Ningalkkum Akam Kodeeshwaran’ hosted by actor and BJP’s Rajyasabha MP Suresh Gopi is one of the most popular shows on TV. Now an incident in the show has gone viral on social media. In an episode, a contestant from Malappuram named Sreejith was asked a question: “Under what category of foods do ceylon and coin fall into?” The options were porotta, dosa, idiyappam and idli. Sreejith answered porotta and as a casual question, Suresh Gopi asked Sreejith whether he has eaten porotta. After this question, another question came from the BJP MP asking what the contestant will order at a hotel. Without much thought, Sreejith answered ‘porotta and beef’. Suresh Gopi just uttered ‘oh’ and proceeded to the next question.

BJP, in several instances, stood against the consumption of beef and has banned it in several states in India.
