NEW DELHI: While attending the NDA meeting on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged BJP's allies to work together by setting aside differences. It is believed that Modi made the statement by keeping in mind the prevailing tension in Maharashtra which led to Shiv Sena's sudden exit from the alliance.
"We are a huge family. Let's work together for people. We have been given a massive mandate, let's respect that. We are like-minded parties despite not having the same ideology and small differences should not unsettle us," he said.
LJP leader Ram Vilas Paswan too hinted at the tension in Maharashtra by pointing out Shiv Sena's absence from the NDA meeting. He also raised concern over the decrease in the number of NDA allies.
Earlier, the Shiv Sena ended their alliance with the BJP due to differences regarding the Maharashtra Chief Minister position.
