THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed the assembly that the public prosecutor has been expelled for the lapses in the case related to the Walayar sexual abuse and suicide of minor sisters. Action has been taken against Latha Jayaraj, the prosecutor in the case. I signed the order on it this morning, chief minister told the assembly.

The chief minister had the other day assured that strict action will be taken against those for the flaws in the probe and conduct of the case. Minister A K Balan had the other day informed that the government had got the report on the flaws.

The chief minister said that a good lawyer will be appointed to hear the case. The party has not intervened in the case. If the family seeks a CBI probe, the government will take a favourable action, he said.

Meantime, Latha Jayaraj refused to react on the action of expelling her.
