NEW DELHI: Former Congress president and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi didn’t appear in the Parliament on Tuesday, on a day he had questions listed in his name. Mavelikkara MP Kodikkunnil Suresh was seated on Rahul’s seat at this time. This prompted Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to remark that he was waiting for Rahul as his name was listed in the question hour.
“I was waiting to call his name but the screen is showing that he is on leave,” Birla said while asking Congress MP from Kerala Kodikunnil Suresh to return to his seat.
Kodikkunnil Suresh is the only Congress member in the Lok Sabha speaker panel.
