KOCHI: Ernakulam collector S Suhas has submitted an investigation report against Thalassery sub collector Asif K Yousuf in fake certificate allegation. The investigation report on the complaint that he got IAS after producing a fake income certificate has been handed over to the chief secretary. Union personnel ministry demanded a probe.

The criteria for reservation of OBC is that the annual income of the family should be less than Rs 6 lakh in any of the three financial years just before writing the exam. However, the Ernakulam collector has found that the annual income of the family was above six lakhs in all the three years.

Asif's parents' annual income has been recorded in the investigation report. In the year Asif showed his annual income as Rs 1,80,000 but his actual income was above Rs 21 lakh. In other years, they had an income of Rs 23-25 lakhs. The report of collector S Suhas submitted to the chief secretary claimed that Asif hid the information of paying income tax to get the benefit of non-creamy segment. Asif is an IAS official of 2016 batch.
