SULTAN BATHERY: Parents and students of the Sarvajan HSS have come protesting against the school authorities over its negligence in providing immediate treatment to Shahla Sherin who died of snakebite.

According to one of the classmates, it was the teacher's negligence that led to Shahla's death. She said Shahla did not initially know that she was bitten by a snake. "Soon after noticing the injury marks on her leg, Shahla had approached the teacher. However, the teacher neglected it by saying that she will be taken to the hospital after the class," the classmate said.

However, the school authorities have denied the claims made by the students. According to the principal, the child was immediately rushed to the hospital. He also added that the hospital failed to give immediate treatment to the child due to the absence of senior doctors. Following the death of the child, several people have come out protesting against the school authorities.
