BATHERY: The state education minister C. Raveendranath has said that there was a lapse from the part of the school in taking the student bitten by snake to the hospital. The teacher, who is the subject of allegations regarding the death of Shahla Sherin, has been suspended. The minister said he has sought for a detailed report on the incident and actions will be taken against all culprits. In the press meet, the minister said he will visit the deceased student’s residence on Saturday and measures will be taken to repair the terrible state of the school.
“In the primary investigation, it was found that the school authorities had committed lapse in the incident leading to the child’s death. There was a delay in giving medical treatment. Strong actions will be taken. The education department never gave directions to keep footwear outside classrooms. It will be inspected why this happened in that school. Precautions will be taken to avoid the repetition of such things”, the minister said.
“One crore rupees was granted for the development of the school for constructing a new building in place of the existing one. Steps will be taken to begin the works immediately. Now, directions has been given to close the holes in the classes”, Raveendranath added.
