SULTHAN BATHERY: Action will be taken against more teachers in connection with the death of a fifth class student after bitten by a snake. A teacher of the school was suspended following allegations of negligence. An explanation has been asked from other teachers. Meantime, the collector has ordered to take action in repairing the class rooms which are in a dilapidated condition and to close the cracks and holes.

Deputy director of public education department has directed to clean the premises of all schools in Wayanad. The premises should be cleaned today itself. The order said the school authorities failed to intervene in case of emergency. He also warned that action will be taken if alert is ignored. All classrooms should be inspected by the head master led by PTA today itself to ensure safety. The order also asked not to ban sandals and shoes in classroom.

The order states that teachers should ensure that there is no danger of snake bites in the playground and boxes placed in the school for various purposes. An order has been given to all schools in Wayanad.
