THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As the financial crisis in the KSRTC keeps on mounting, the state government is planning to hand over half of its services to the private sector, reports said. The matter is currently under consideration of the Transport department.

According to reports, the government is planning to replace superclass fast buses by private buses as soon as the validity of the superclass buses expires. Following this, the city services will also be handed over to the private sector. It must be noted that the partial privatization of the KSRTC will also hand over the recruitment of conductors and drivers partially to the private sector.

Earlier, the government had hinted about the partial privatization by renting Scania buses for long-distance services.
