KOCHI: Bhumata Brigade leader Trupti Desai has informed to leave without climbing the holy steps in Sabarimala. She will leave Kerala tonight in a flight at 12.20 pm. Meantime, Minister A K Balan said no women will be permitted to enter Sabarimala. Peace will be ensured in Sabarimala and the conspiracy on today’s incident will be probed. The government will not move the Supreme Court seeking clarity on the Sabarimala verdict. The attack towards Bindu Ammini was a violation of human rights, he said.
Trupti Desai and her team had reached the office of the city police commission ahead of going to Sabarimala. Bindu Ammini, who visited Sabarimala last year, joined Trupti Desai today. Hearing the arrival of women, a team led by BJP leader C G Rajagopal staged protests in front of the commissioner’s office. A verbal dispute broke out between the two. Following that, one from the team sprayed chilli powder on her face.
Meantime, Minister Kadakampally Surendran said that he suspected a conspiracy behind what happened. She came from Maharashtra where the RSS and BJP have influence and only a right wing backed TV channel-Janam got the statement of Desai as soon as she landed at the airport, he said.
