KOCHI: Bhumatha Brigade leader Trupti Desai is finally on her way back home, dropping her plan to visit Sabarimala. She had to turn back after the Kerala police informed her that they would not be able to give her police protection.

From Kochi international airport, she will be boarding 10.20 pm flight to Mumbai today (Tuesday). Earlier, Trupti Desai had taken the stand that she would not return home without visiting Sabarimala.

In between, she had informed that she would be going back at 4 pm today but soon changed her mind. Finally, after having compromise talks with police officers, she said she would not be going to Sabarimala and straightway booked the ticket.

Before leaving, Trupti had this advice for Pinarayi government: The government that ensures women’s empowerment should make arrangements for that. “We have the right to go to Sabarimala as there is no stay on women’s entry verdict (2018) of the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile Sabarimala Karma Samithy members are continuing their Namajapa protest in front of Kochi Commissioner Office, where Trupti and her team are waiting.
