KOCHI: The Kerala High Court here on Wednesday dismissed the bail pleas of Alan Suhaib and Thaha Fazal, the two CPI (M) student activists, arrested in Kozhikode under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) for allegedly distributing pro-Maoist pamphlets. The court order was after accepting the arguments of the prosecution.

The court had thoroughly examined the case diary and other evidences produced by the police. The police produced the evidence proving their Maoist links and asserted the reason for imposing UAPA on the two. Bail was denied pointing that the charges imposed will remain.

Some of the notes seized from the accused were in code language. A detailed probe will be conducted to find the contents of it.
