KOCHI: Teachers of Sarvajana School at Sulthan Bathery in Wayanad moved the Kerala High Court for anticipatory bail in connection with the death of Shehala Sherin of snakebite. Headmaster K K Mohanan and Shajil, a teacher moved the court for anticipatory bail.

A case has been registered against three teachers of the school and a doctor of Bathery taluk hospital in connection with the incident.

Preliminary findings show that there are lapses on the side of them in ensuring urgent treatment for Shehala bitten by snake. Following that, a case for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and Section 75 of the Child Justice Act has been registered against them.

Shehala, a fight class student of the school, died on November 20, after she was bitten by a snake in the classroom.
