SABARIMALA: Following the failed bid of Bhumatha Brigade leader Trupti Desai and her team to visit Sabarimala, the police have tightened security at Nilakkal and Pamba.

A special team of women police officers have been stationed at these places. Small vehicles that are allowed to enter Pamba are being stopped at Nilakkal for checking.

A few days ago, the police had blocked at Nilakkal a group of women from Andhra.

On the way from Pamba Ganapathy temple to Sannidhanam, there are also two policewomen deployed at Devaswon Guard room.

They have been checking the ID cards of women suspected to be between the age group of 10 and 50. In the wake of yesterday’s dramatic scenes at Koch Police Commissioner’s office , Sabarimala Karma Samathy has turned their attention towards Nilakkal, Pamba and Sannidhanam.

With standing instruction not to allow young women’s entry in Sabarimala, women devotes going to Sabarimala from Vandiperiyar via Pullumedu are being checked by Forest officers at Vallkkadavu rest house.

As the women’s entry issue in Sabarimala have subsided this time, there have been an increase in the number of devotees reaching Sabarimala have also increased by many folds.


Sabarimala Karma Samithy alleges conspiracy

Sabarimala Karma Samithy has alleged that there is some conspiracy behind activists coming forward with challenges at this relatively peaceful pilgrimage.

“Those people who are not ready to go back and instead create law and order problems should be arrested.,” Karmasamithy State general convenor SJR Kumar demanded on Wednesday.
