BENGALURU: The Bengaluru Central Crime Branch police have arrested a gang of eight people, including two women, who were indulged in honey-trapping and blackmailing some Karnataka politicians and businessmen. The arrest was made after a North Karnataka politician filed a complaint. The details of the arrest haven’t been made public.

A video of a North Karnataka politician recently surfaced. According to the crime branch sources, the gang used to send a woman to meet with the bigwigs to establish a trusted relationship with them. And once the victim fell into the woman’s trap, they would book a hotel room where the gang would fix spy cameras and record the private movements.

The recorded videos will be sent to the victims and blackmailing will begin. The honey trap links in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh had surfaced earlier.
