KOTHAMANGALAM: Pictures of a driver driving a private bus while talking on a mobile phone has gone viral. In the video shot by one of the passengers, the driver is seen holding the phone in his right hand and then steering the vehicle using his left hand. The video has been posted in the social media. The incident was witnessed on the Shreelekshmi Bus running on the Kothamangalam-Perumbavoor route. Based on the video footage, the motor vehicle department has registered a case against driver Sreekanth. Kothamangalam joint RTO has informed to cancel his license.

The driver was talking on the mobile after putting the lives of his passengers including women and children at risk. The two minute video shows the driver holding his mobile in his right hand and talking and was also seen dialling the number. While talking on the mobile, he was changing the gear with his left hand. He was also looking at the passengers in between.

Earlier also, the motor vehicle department had cancelled the licenses of private bus drivers. A driver was suspended earlier for driving the bus after he was seen singing holding a mike on his right hand and another driver from Kalpetta in Wayanad was suspended for making girls shift the gears of the moving bus.
