THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police arrested a man and his lover for murdering his wife at Udayamperoor. The dead identified as Vidya, native of Cherthala, was murdered two months ago. The accused Prem Kumar and his lover Sunitha Baby were produced in the court. He killed his wife with the help of his lover. He decided to murder his wife after meeting his childhood friend Sunitha Baby at the school reunion. Sunitha was living with her husband in Hyderabad. When they met at the reunion, he revealed his love to her and after getting a favourable response from her, Prem Kumar planned to get rid of his wife.

In the meanwhile, he brought his wife to a house in Peyad in the name of Ayurveda treatment. He made her consume liquor and when she fell unconscious, strangulated her to death. Police confirmed the presence of Sunitha at the time of the murder.

Prem Kumar told police that he took the extreme step after she cheated him. He said that she had married four times but told him that she was married only once. She has children from her previous marriages.

Prem Kumar and his girlfriend were walking freely for three months after committing the murder. They took the body and dumped it in Tirunelveli. The Tamil Nadu police found the body and cremated it thinking as an unidentified body.

Prem Kumar abandoned Vidya’s phone in the dustbin of Netravati Express. Vidya had gone missing four times earlier also. She had the habit of returning after a short interval and this helped Prem Kumar to hide the murder.
